CBD and Physical Wellness

This week we will touch on physical wellness. When you hear wellness, most immediately think of physical wellness; exercising more, eating better, losing a few (or more) pounds around the waistline! Wellness is so much more than just physical, but for today let’s focus on the physical side. Maintaining good physical wellness is a key driver to 1) feeling better physically and 2) getting your body and mind working the way it should.

So what am I doing this year to maintain and improve physical wellness? I have 2 goals this year as it relates to my physical wellness, 1) complete my second marathon (shooting for fall/early winter) and  2) complete a few (i.e. more than 1) obstacle course races (OCR). Physical training (cardio and strength workouts), sleep and eating well and are keys to fueling and maintaining your body for solid performance.


Tips to maintaining Healthy Physical Wellness:

  • Get outside - whether that is for a walk around the block, a long run, or just enjoying a relaxing time with friends, do it outside and your body will thank you.
  • Find a routine or program and stick to it, start small but commit - it could be a couch to 5k program, doing a Crossfit Program, or (as I am currently doing) a 13 week DDPyoga program. Having a program charted out will help keep you on schedule and motivate you to complete it.
  • Commit to eat better and meal planning - we try and plan out meals each week and get all the groceries for the week at once using a list for the week. While we don’t always stay on schedule, having a plan definitely helps.
  • Make sure you rest - both nightly and weekly. Make sure your getting enough sleep each night and also make sure you take a day off to relax and recharge your body. Keeping a day of rest will not only help keep your body healthy but will help recharge your mind and soul as well.

How can CBD help my physical wellness?
